My research interests focus on the mechanisms associated with cardiovascular health. As a lifelong endurance athlete I have always been fascinated by the heart and its adaptability when tasked with extreme loads. My research has allowed me to gain a deeper understanding of the core mechanisms that drive the cardiovascular system and how this relates to the lab’s goal of studying atrial fibrillation. I am currently studying the role of caveolae in stretch-induced NO/ROS-mediated regulation of calcium signaling in atrial cardiomyocytes.
